Atheist Fundings is a civic education and legal reform initiative committed to preserving the constitutional separation of church and state. As part of Protect Our Safety Inc., we ensure that public policies and legal protections are grounded in reason, fairness, and equal treatment, not religious favoritism or political influence.

Our mission is simple: to uphold the principles of evidence-based lawmaking, fiscal transparency, and universal civil rights, regardless of personal belief.

📚 Why This Matters

In a democratic society, the law should apply equally to all. But in practice, religious institutions often operate under different rules, receiving public benefits while facing fewer obligations. These disparities affect every American, whether they practice a religion or not.

  Religious organizations are exempt from most taxes and financial disclosures, costing taxpayers tens of billions annually. Unlike other nonprofits, they are not required to report income or activities to the IRS.

  Some legal doctrines shield religious organizations from lawsuits and regulation, even in serious harm. This undermines the legal principle of equal responsibility under the law.
  
  
• Religion in Public Institutions
  
  Despite the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, religious references appear on money, in pledges, and throughout public life, raising concerns about constitutional neutrality and the inclusion of diverse viewpoints.

  Dozens of countries still enforce blasphemy laws. Around the world, people face discrimination or worse based solely on belief.
